Milma places the highest priority on product safety and quality assurance. Each dairy under MRCMPU is equipped with modern in-house laboratories that conduct rigorous testing at every stage of production — from milk procurement at the farm level, raw milk reception at chilling centres and dairies, to finished product dispatch.
All incoming milk and packaging materials undergo chemical, microbiological, and sensory evaluations using advanced analytical instruments such as FTIR, HPLC, Milk Analyzer, Luminometers, and other precision testing tools.
Process hygiene is continuously verified through surface swab analysis, air quality monitoring, and CIP (Clean-in-Place) validation, ensuring a contamination-free production environment.
Finished products are thoroughly tested for fat, SNF, acidity, microbial load, and a wide range of microbiological parameters, as well as for antibiotic residues, wide range of adulteration indicators, food toxins such as aflatoxin M1, metal contaminants, and water quality.
Comprehensive testing is also carried out for legal compliance and shelf stability before products are released to the market.
In addition, representative samples from all dairies are periodically analyzed at the NABL-accredited Central Laboratory, Ernakulam, for third-party verification and certification.
Through this robust, multi-level quality control system, Milma guarantees that every drop of milk and every dairy product reaching consumers is safe, pure, nutritious, and trustworthy.
